Following an invitation to observe the 23 August 2026 early parliamentary elections, and in accordance with its mandate, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) deployed an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Kazakhstan on 10 July.1 The mission, led by Ambassador Vincent Piket, consists of a 12-member core team based in Astana and 22 long-term observers (LTOs) deployed since 18 July to 11 locations around the country.
